From DC-2 cut out D27's, glue into place under the edge of the hatch opening in
D2 so it forms
a shelf for D3 to sit onto, and glue into place.

When dry, check
that D3 is a good fit. I then cut out the parts needed for the
hatch, and glued it together. When the glue had dried, I
test fitted the hatch into place.
Hull Bulwark
Supports and Capping:
I did NOT use the
capping that came with the kit.

Instead of the kit capping parts, I started with some 3/16" tube styrene I
had.
I used my Dremel® tool to cut a groove the lengths of tubes. These
tubes where then bent to fit around the top of the bulwarks,
then slid into place.

Because I did not use the kit capping, the kit bulwark supports will not
fit without some trimming. I cut out the supports and
used SIDE 2 and Drawing No.4 to mark onto the deck the bulwark support centers as shown,
starting from the rear. Then I first fit the support into
it's location. The picture below shows how I first trimmed
and fitted each support into place. I checked the fit, the
support below is NOT glued into place, it's just has a good
tight fit.

After I achieved a desirable fit with the support, I removed it and then
glued a strip of styrene on the support. I then glued the
support to the bulwark in the proper position.
