You have arrived at my little area on the web containing my radio controlled scale model boat and ship projects. For over thirty-two years, I have been building model R/C aircraft, cars, boats and plastic kits of all kinds.  I even spent many years building model rockets and teaching the hobby of model rocketry to youngsters, hence my nickname of "Rocketman" or RKTMAN.

Over the years, I have spent so many hours kit or scratch building static cars, aircraft and warships for display that I have sold or even given away to friends. After all this time, I have to say that building R/C scale model boats is by far my favorite hobby. It's a more expensive hobby, but over the long time devoted to building a project, the rewards are greater when you are done.  If you are an avid boat modeler, please take a look around at some of my model boat projects.

USS CROCKETT

(Click On The Picture Above To Enter The USS Crockett Website)

This Dumas model of the USS Crockett was designed to a scale of  1/39 actual size. The hull is a plywood frame planked with 1/8 "x 1/2" balsa while the superstructure is a plywood box structure.

This is the second Dumas kit I have built.  This new website will show the details I didn't show during the first model I built.

(Click On The Picture Above To Enter The USS Antietam Website)
The USS Antietam was the third AEGIS cruiser to have the Mk 41 Vertical Launch System.   I have a hull  and some fittings from The Scale Shipyard to build the Ticonderoga Aegis Cruiser.  I am using laser cut superstructure parts manufactured by Homeport Models.

USS Bunker Hill CG-52

(Click On The Picture Above To Enter The USS Bunker Hill Website)
The USS Bunker Hill was the first Ticonderoga class cruiser to be equipped with the Mk. 41 VLS (Vertical Launch System) in place of the previous ships' Mk. 26 twin-arm missile launchers, greatly improving the flexibility and firepower of the ships by allowing them to fire BGM-109 Tomahawk missiles.  This model is being built by Eric Bertelsen of Homeport Model Ships using a hull  and some fittings from The Scale Shipyard.  The superstructure parts are laser cut and manufactured by Homeport Models.
