Running Gear:
I used the manual and plans to identify
all of the part I would need to assemble the running gear.
I cleaned all of the white metal fittings with soapy water.
I then removed any flash and filled where needed. I sanded
and filled the rudders and Kort nozzles also. Picture
below shows the sanded parts ready for assembly.

Look at SIDE 1 from the plans and Drawing NO.1 from the manual.
On the bottom of the hull at the stern, mark accurately the
holes as shown.

Drill them out and file them carefully to shapes
shown.

At this point, I took two short lengths of 233
(brass rod), bent them up to make two clip keepers as shown on Drawing NO.1 in the manual and
then placed them aside for later use.

Next I assembled prop shaft "A" frames to stuffing box but
did not glue them together. I then filed out the slots
where the tubes go through the hull until the two legs on prop
shaft "A" frames fit through the hull, do this each side.
Below you can see where I am starting to drill out the hull for
the stuffing box.

After the assembled prop shaft "A" frames and stuffing
boxes fit aligned in the holes through in the hull, then I
removed the assemblies. I then glued the stuffing boxes to
the prop shaft "A" frames
so that 5mm of the stuffing box protrudes from the end as shown
below. Temporarily place
this assembly back into position.
Roger's Notes:
Make sure that the prop shaft "A" frames are glued the
right way on the tube!
