In the beginning

The hull for this project started it's life as a CG-47 USS Ticonderoga hull from BaD Ship Models
.  I originally intended to build this kit as CG-52 USS Bunker Hill.  After many years in storage I had a change of mind.  I changed my mind and decided to build the BaD Ship Models hull as DD-963.

The following pictures are from a few years ago when I pulled the model out of storage.  Sorry for the poor pictures but I gives you an idea of what I was doing.  I was not happy with the model and placed it back in storage!

A change of Mind

Back in March 06 I pulled the model out of storage yet again.  A few items shifted during storage and these items ended up on my model.  Because I was going to rework the model, I was not that concerned about the damage.  At this point I intended to rebuild it as my DD-963, redoing the superstructure and reworking the hull a bit.  I took a few pictures on that day.

This pictures shows the model when I got it home.  You can see the CG-52 I was building and The Scale Shipyard fiberglass CG-47 hull in the background.

This picture shows the running gear.  This is my first attempt a making my own props...  plus I reworked the struts.

This picture shows the work I was doing on the VLS.  I made my own castings for the cells.  Since this is still in work, I hope to finish the details on this project.
