Trying to get this kit has really been a major aggravation and has required a new level of patience. sad.gif My local hobby shop (always support your local hobby shop!) was unable to locate this kit. Tower Hobbies doesn’t list the kit. I called Harbor Models and Dave found a kit! He found it only after he got a hold of Dumas for me and ordered it directly from them. They put together a kit for me this week to include laying the fiberglass hull and putting together the rest of the kit parts! Seems Dumas is behind in production (about three weeks on this kit) and this is why hobby distributors are out of stock of this kit. Now I’m just waiting for it to be delivered in a few days… Thanks Dave. biggrin.gif
Now that I have decided to build this kit, I’ve been thinking of what I may want to do with this kit. Since Dumas it seems, didn’t really make a “true scale” model of the mega-yacht “Time”… this gives me the chance to really make a model of my perfect yacht. So, even before I have received the kit I have been thinking of what I want in this yacht model. One thing I have is some nice five bladed 2” brass props (Prop Shop). I went with five blades instead of four just for “looks”. Since it will be on the display more than in the water, I like the look of a five bladed prop over a four. Plus I choose to use props because props will give me better performance than using jet units… even though the real yacht "Time" uses water jets. These changes will make a major difference in the water. Does anyone have any other ideas about this kit? Suggestions? Please let me know…

I am now wondering if anyone out there has tried this kit before and what they thought of it? Or does anyone have any information or pictures of the kit or real yacht? The Dumas "Prime Time" megayacht was modeled after the 126' Palmer Johnson Inc. high speed megayacht "Time" built in 1987. I have not been able the find much useful information (for the model builder) on this yacht. If anyone can help, please let me know. From looking at my hull and plans, this seems like it is going to be a fun project.

Hi Roger,

Great site! biggrin.gif

I too have the Prime Time and it's been on hold for some time. I am putting twin jet drives in it and have been looking for an Ace Nautical Commander for a reasonable price (withno luck) but now that Ace is going to release a newer version I think it's time to start this project. I did come across 1 picture of the Yacht but can't seem to find it at the moment. rolleyes.gif

Cheers Rob.

The PRIME TIME has been placed back on the shelf. It sits over my building table waiting for it's time to be built. I have too many projects at this time... we shall see how things go in the Spring. wink.gif I did decide to go with two brass screws (I'm not going to use jet drives) and I will make custom "A" struts, rudders and stern tubes. blink.gif

Oh yes I do have something else to add. While cleaning out the storage room (the wife wanted it cleaned out), I came across the information I was looking for on the real mega yacht "TIME'. WoW ... biggrin.gif It's about 8 pages of information. Whenever I start building again my model I may need to get that information on "TIME" up here for you all to see.
