Model Marina Discussion Board _ Warships _ Motors for Dumas USS Crockett

I have been asked this question several times before:

"Do you have any recommendations for a motor to use in the USS Crockett, 1:35 scale?"

For my USS Crockett, I used 2ea. 12 volt Dumas motors. These motors are great for props up to 1.75" dia. For my model I ran these direct drive.

You can get these motors @ http://www.harbormodels.com.

For a battery I used a Hobbico TorqMaster LC 12V 7Amp Battery. You can get this battery from Tower Hobbies for $17.99 and is a far better batter than the Dumas 12 volt battery. Plus, the Dumas 12 volt battery costs $52.99 and it's only a 2.5 amp battery. Get the field battery... much better.
