Well, my first boat was the Dumas SkDaddle. It wasn't a scale craft, just a flat bottom mono hull. It was 1972 and I was 14 years old. It took almost a year to complete, but I still remember the first time I took it out with my father.

The first model R/C boat I built was the Lindberg "Blue Devil Destroyer". This was a plastic model kit that I built and then I added a two channel radio. I never got around to adding a speed control in it, I just used a simple on/off switch. This means that I could only control the rudders. I didn't even paint the model, I just wanted to get it down to the lake and have fun.
![]() ![]() I have wanted to build this model again. PaintChip has one that he is working on. ![]() -------------------- |
