Hi from down under. Does anyone have a Dumas Creole Queen paddle steamer. The specs say 48'" but the model has a large ramp/bridge on the front. Is the hull 48" or less allowing for the ramp? any help would be great

The hull on the model is about 48". I started mine over a year ago and have the hull framed up ready to plank. Too many models...

Roger is right....i have mine planked and fiberglassed inside and out, it measures about 48 inches. make SURE that you get the curve on the main deck right.....at the rear frames the alignment is very hard to correct after thehull is built....building the frame was easy.....correcting 1/4 of an inch off in the alignment brought me close to tears....lol....dumas's instructions are not the best so take your time and try dry fitting until you are sure everything is right.....to get the hull planking on i soaked the wood in boiling water with a bit of ammonia....then used pins, clamp and every bit of canned goods in the house to hold it in place till it dryed before glueing.....Roger will probly have better ways to do this but i had i time getting the bow pieces to fit.....also i tossed the dumas wood for the bow planking and cut new ones from bass wood....i finally have a nice hull and most of the first level assembled.....i am looking into other drive options as i dont like the belt drive....might use the drive system for the other stern wheeler dumas makes....one last thing is that the people at dumas are very nice....i call them every time i have a problem and they are always helpfull, if you have questions i wouldnt hesitate to ask
