  The deck pieces come together at Frame 8.  I installed four scrap pieces of planking on both sides of the sheers on both sides of the frame.  After this, I then sanded the balsa blocks so that the proper deck curve or "camber" is maintained.  This will provide better support to the deck during the gluing process.

 Dumas wants you to glue on the "deck halves on one side at a time. Line up the rear of the deck with the rear of the transom and the center of the deck with the center marks you made on the frames. Use masking tape or heavy pins to hold the deck half in place as the glue dries."

 

  This can add extra difficulty to the construction.  Here is how I did mine:

  With the deck pieces removed, I added 1/16" plywood tags to the center seam of the underside of the deck pieces.  I glued these so that they do not interfere with any of the hull frames.
