NOTE: When I
wrote these instructions, Dumas steps 13 through 17 have
been combined into one step. Therefore, Step 14,
Step 15, Step 16 and Step 17 have been deleted. I
did this to keep the continuity between this website and
the written Dumas instructions.
Cement the
rudder blocks inside the hull.
NOTE: You do
not need to drill the holes for the rudders. I did
this to "test fit" the rudders into position. This
is because I changed the location of the
props,
struts and rudders. More on this later in
construction.
Cut and/or sand off the
legs of frames 1 through 12 so that the proper deck
curve or "camber" is maintained. Each leg must taper to
nothing at the extreme outer edge of the sheer so that
the deck can fit tight against the top edge of the hull.
You also want to sand the top plank to match the contour
of the sheer.
