Cement K-1
to K-2 for each half of the keel. I used Thick CA.
Note that the inside and outside edges form a straight
line at the splice.
Cement the right and left keel halves together with a
slow setting epoxy. Clamp or weight the keel to a flat
board until dry. Be sure the frame notches line up
properly. When dry, clean any excess glue out of the
notches. Reinforce the splice with scrap ply
and then clean any
excess glue from the notches.
(Make sure the parts are
secured while drying)
Inspect
part 14. Note the smoothest side. This will
become the outside of the transom.
(Note the picture above. The voids are on the
side that will be the "inside" of the transom...
or where I will apply the epoxy to bond 13 and 14
together)
(Note how clear the other side is. This will
become the outside of the transom)
Cement 13 and 14 together to form the transom. Nail or clamp to a flat
surface until the glue dries and then clean any excess
glue from the notches.
NOTE: Do not use nails,
nails can split and weaken the plywood.
