R/C OR STATIC MODEL cont. |

the
initial cost of the kit. This added expense comes from
the added R/C equipment. Plus, most modelers often
add extra features that also increase the expense
associated with the model.
 |
|
Regardless of type of model you wish to build, they do
have two things in common. They will cost you both
in "time" and "money". As covered
earlier, money is
a factor inherent with this hobby. "The difference
between the men and the boys is the price of our toys!"
Building this project can easily take a years worth of
building. Building time is based on your "free"
time and the ease of the build. Why is it that
most modelers (including me) never really finish their
models? We tend to get almost 95% done, then some
other project strikes our eyes. |

DETAIL |
 |
|
The Dumas
kit is a "builders" kit. Meaning, there is allot
of building required to complete the kit. The
model does provide adequate detail for someone looking
to enjoy the model at the local lake. With some
effort, the model can be transformed into a very nice
scale model of the USS Crockett.
The following pictures are from John Larese & Mike Plot.
These models have been build using the kit provided
plans and kit provided materials. There are some
extra fittings that have been used. Note, that these
are very nicely built and represent two fine models of
the USS Crockett. |
