this time.  Below is a close-up of the bow area of my hull.



  Use your razor saw and trim the planks at the stern.  You do not need to trim them to size with the saw.  You will get better results if you rough cut them to size with the saw and sand them with a sanding block to the final length.

 

  I used a sanding bar with 80 GRIT sand paper to rough shape the hull.  80 GRIT will quickly remove balsa.  If the 80 GRIT is too rough for you, use 120 GRIT.  Use caution when you use the sanding bar on the curved parts of the hull to prevent sanding a "flat" area in the hull.  Also, use caution when using the sanding bar on the curved areas to prevent gouging the hull.



  On the curved areas of the hull, I used a piece of the "sticky" 80 GRIT paper stuck to my fingers to sand the curved area of the hull.
