After I had decided to build this kit
again, I went down to my local hobby dealer. Since
she didn't stock the kit she was going to have to order
it for me. I told her to order it, and then in a
few days I had my kit. I would always advise you
to support your local hobby shop.
After I got the kit home I opened it and inspected the parts. The
plans and instructions were located on the bottom of the
box under the wood parts. I used the "parts
locator" to identify each of the die-cut part in the
kit. My kit was not missing any parts although
there was one damaged part.
Once I found the damaged die-cut sheet, I called
Dumas Products, Inc..
at the following number: 1-800-458-2828. A lady
answered the phone and talked to me about the problem
with the die-cut sheet. She was very helpful and
told me that
Dumas would
get a replacement sheet right out to me. The lady did
ask me where I had purchased the kit from. I told her
and we both hung up. I have run into other times where
I have had Dumas replace something. They have always
been helpful and have quickly sent me the required item.
Also to note, the replacement parts have been in regard to
"new" kits. I doubt you would get this same service on
"used" kits like you can get on eBay. So, buyer
beware.
The
plans in this kit were a bit different than from the
first kit I build. In the first kit, the plans
were blue, with blue line drawings and blue lettering.
Somewhat like "blue prints". In this kit, the
plans where black and white "photo" copies and were much
easier to see and read.
