epoxies.
I will use 5 min, 15 min and 30 min epoxies. These
can be purchased from your local hobby dealer and I am
not brand
specific.
Although I am not brand specific for the epoxies, I am
for the finishing resin! For many of model I have
made, I have used Pacer Technology's Z-Poxy Finishing
Resin. Pacer's
Finishing Resin system is specially formulated to bond
fiberglass to wood and foam. Resistant to shock and
solvents and is odorless. This Epoxy is resistant
to shock and solvents, and is non-brittle, easy to sand
and has good flow characteristics. The total working
time of this Resin is 60 minutes, and fully cures in 3
Hours completely clear. You can get this from your
local hobby shop. |

Cyanoacrylate (CA) |

I have
found that I like to use "thick" CA the most. The
thick formula can also fill gaps and yields the longest
working time. Cures in one to two minutes without
accelerator (may
vary depending on brand).
Plus it works good on bonding plywood parts in this kit.
I also use an CA Activator. This is
great for thick and medium CA that doesn't cure as fast
as the instant. All you have to do is apply the
CA, then spray the Activator on the CA and it cures
almost instantly. I also keep on hand a
"thin" CA and thin CA's
is instant setting.
Warning: These glues
can be an Eye Irritant and Bonds Skin Instantly.
Keep out of reach of children, use in well ventilated
area. Store in a cool, dry location, with the cap on. CA
can spoil and work very poorly after being stored in an
open bottle. You can get CA's from your local
hobby shop. |
