Join the front and rear halves (S-1 & S-2) of the sheers. Note that the inside and outside edges of the sheers form a straight line at the splice. Reinforce the lower side of the splice with a piece of 1/8 or 1/16 ply scrap. Be sure to make a right sheer.

Cement K-1 to K-2 for each half of the keel. Note that the inside and outside edges form a straight line at the splice.

Joining the KEEL and SHEERS
Steps 3, 4 & 5.  Joining the sheers and keel.

Cement the right and left keel halves together with a slow setting epoxy. Nail, clamp or weight the keel to a flat board until dry. Be sure the frame notches line up properly. When dry, clean any excess glue out of the notches. Reinforce the splice with scrap ply.
