Back in Step 13, you start planking the sheer
knuckle. This is the most important characteristic feature of this hull. This
is also the most difficult part of the assembly of this kit. Here are some points to
remember:
- The sheer knuckle
has a crisp edge
- The plates come together at the bow to form a sharp contour
Most modelers have difficulty building
this area of the hull. The picture of the Crockett on the blue prints show a blunt
edge at the bow. This is incorrect and is a result of a poor photo copy of the real
ship on the plans. The shadow is deceiving.
