Painting the Hull
After I masked off the
hull red, I applied the Gun Ship Gray to the weather deck. I gave it two coats.
After the gun ship gray was dry, I started to mask the weather decks.

After the safety circle was masked, I
applied a coat of insignia red. NOTE: I measured 3/16" from the edge, this area
will remain haze gray. When dry, I masked over top of the circle to
protect it from the next color.
I applied Haze Gray to the sides of the
hull, the break water and edges of the main deck. I ensured a good coverage at the
sheer knuckle. I applied two coats.
When the gray color was dry, I measured
½" above the mast I applied to the bottom. This will identify the location of
the boot topping. I masked the tops of the deck to ensure I get no black over spry
on the gray.

After the paint had dried, I removed the masking tape. Below are
some pictures of the finished color coats.
