The decks that were laser cut where very accurate.
I used them with the plans to establish the width of my
beam. I test fitted the decks into place to ensure
proper fit.
As
you can see in the picture above, I carefully located
the cross braces using my plans to avoid access
problems, like blocking interior access. I glued the
beams into place first by using superglue, then I
reinforced the joints by using Bondo. I had extra spruce
left over from another project that I used.
Because the the superstructure doesn't follow the
"exact" deck opening in the deck, when I test fit the
superstructure together I noted how much room I had on
each side of the deck. This information would be
later used in attaching coaming for the alignment of the
superstructure.
