Hull Preparation Cont.

The center seam is sanded and filler applied.

More work on the center seam and skeg.

On my hull, allot of work needed to be done on the center seam.  The skeg also needed lots of work to smooth out.

I purchased the hull for this project from The Scale Shipyard back in 2000.  The hull I received was hand laid up.  Remember the hulls Dumas once manufactured?  For example, those hulls were shot using a chopper gun and varied in thickness and quality.   The Scale Shipyard has left off bilge keels and has not included such details as the torpedo doors and left such details for the modeler to include.  Such details will over time degrade the mold.  The Scale Shipyard does include A frame, stern tube and rudder locations on the hull.  The hull did come with a set of arrangement plans.
