GENERAL:   - What paints can you use on Gator Foam Board?

Acrylic and enamel paints are safe for use on Gator Foam Board, but make sure you test your paint on a section of scrap Gator Foam Board first before applying paint to your model. Keep in mind that paint solvents can destroy the foam core, so apply paint only to the outer board layer. If you plan to paint the Gator Foam Board surface, a good primer coat is recommended before you apply your final paint coat.  Gator Foam Board does not need any special preparation before priming or painting.  The surface should  be kept clean and free of any oil contaminates as with any other surface to be painted. If the surface has become lightly soiled or scratched, it may be hand sanded with a silicon carbide dry paper 180 grit or finer. After sanding, be sure to clean surface well to remove any dust particles.
