Roger's Notes:
The
1" piece of basswood will be used
to mount this buoy on the cockpit roof, as shown on the plan. As
an alternative, you could leave this piece out, notch the front
of the cockpit roof, and glue this buoy to the windshield frame,
as shown. If you decide to do this, ignore Steps #271 and #272.
Sand and prime then
paint the buoys the color of your choice at this
time.

Here I have masked off the "white stripe" and will spray a final
red top coat of the buoys.

Drill a 1/8"
hole through the cockpit roof for the buoy, at the location
shown here and on the plan. Taper the end of the mount on the
buoy. Glue the buoy into the hole in the roof with a small
amount of CA.

Buoys
You can build three buoys
from the materials included with your kit. They should all be
constructed at the same time, using the steps listed
below.
You
will need the parts illustrated in your manual to complete this
sub-assembly. The pre-shaped buoys are in the Accessory Bag. The
1/8" square basswood is in Bag Number Two (#2).
Cut three 3" pieces of 1/8" square basswood.
