Use an X-Acto® knife to remove a portion of the skid on the rear hatch so that the base of one cleat will fit in this area with the edge of its base flush with the forward edge of the hatch, as shown.

Drill a 1/16" hole into the hatch to fit the pin on the bottom of the cleat. Glue the cleat to the hatch with Slow CA.

Drill a 1/16" hole halfway into the mast, as shown.  This hole is to be about 1/8" below the existing hole through the mast, and parallel to it. Use Slow CA to glue the remaining cleat to the mast, as shown .


 


Cleats and Fairleads

You will need the parts illustrated below. They are all in the Accessory Bag.

If necessary, use an X-Acto® knife and sandpaper to remove any flash or uneven edges from the fairleads and cleats. Then, paint these parts with black paint.

Use Slow CA to glue the fairleads in the positions shown here and on the plan.
