Paint or stain the bollard as you wish. Then, insert the brass rod so that an equal amount sticks out of each side of the bollard. Secure it with a drop of CA and paint the rod black.

Use a sanding block to bevel the bottom of the bollard so that it will stand upright on the deck, relative to the waterline. Use Slow CA to glue it to the deck, in the position shown on the plan.

Ballard

You will need the parts illustrated in your manual to complete this sub-assembly. The basswood part is in Bag Number Five (#5). The brass rod is in the Accessory Bag.

Drill a 3/32" hole through the bollard at the loca­tion shown on the plan. Then, using an X-Acto® knife and #80 grit sandpaper, carve and sand the bollard to the shape shown here and on the plan.

First I marked the basswood bollard with dimensions from the plan.

Next I carved the bollard to shape using the lines as a guide.
