assembly. Explanations that enhance individual instructions
appear as notes following the instruction. I would recommend
that you read
through each sub-assembly and identify all of the parts before
starting construction on a sub-assembly.
Check-off boxes
appear in the manual next to each instruction step throughout the text to help you
keep track of your progress. However, some sections do not have
check-off boxes. These sections explain "general procedures",
rather than specific instructions.
Most of the parts
in this kit are packed in numbered plastic bags. In some bags,
not all of the parts will be used at once. To avoid their
accidental loss, parts not used should be put back in their
proper bag. They will be used later in construction.
Using the proper
tools, adhesives and building techniques described here and your
manual will help you avoid problems. Be sure that all parts are
installed as per the instructions. |

This area of the website grew from many emails sent to me asking me
"what kit would you recommend for my first R/C boat?"
I have build two of these models and soon will be building a
third (I will kit bash the third kit into the ORCA).
The directions in the kit are outstanding and will allow a new
builder to build an excellent R/C boat. This area
will take the printed manual that is included in the kit to the
next level. I will use it as a guide to outline the
assembly of my second Lobsterboat.
The manual
included in the kit divides construction into sections; hull, cabin, etc. Within
each section, construction is further broken down into
sub-assemblies like the; keel, frames, etc. There is a description of the
parts to be used in each sub-assembly at the start of each
sub-assembly.
Where necessary,
general instructions and comments appear at the start of each
